Our OFFline Animation Residency was on hold for 2023 as we completed our five-year review which, which we launched during OFFline 2023!

About the Residency
Successful candidates receive free accommodation, studio space with computer (and film) equipment and software supplied as well a small stipend while staying to cover basic living expenses and the opportunity to showcase your project during OFFline Film Festival!

IFTA Win for Soft Tissue

More great news for another former OFFline Animation Resident, Clíona Noonan.

The project she worked on during her residency in Birr in 2020, Soft Tissue, the award for Best Animated Short category in this year’s Irish Film & Television Academy Awards on Sunday 7 May 2023.

Soft Tissue tells the tale of a father takes desperate measures in the hopes of saving his son, but his actions soon become a distraction from what matters to him most. Read more about her win here.

One of our first OFFline Animation Residents, Jack O’Shea, won the IFTA for Best Animated Short for The Dream Report (which he also worked on in Birr!) back in 2018.

Joe Loftus

Joe Loftus is an Animator, Film maker and Director with over nine years’ experience working in animation. He has worked as an Animator and Director on shows for Disney, BBC, Hasbro and RTE. His short films have received a number of awards and have screened in festivals around the world. He is always working on his next film project.

Eoin O'Kane

Eoin is a 2D animator from Donegal. He studied animation at LYIT.
